President Donald Trump said on Friday that if Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to agree on terms of ceasefire, the United States would “pass” on peace efforts for Ukraine.
Trump told reporters, “If for some reason, one of the two sides makes it very difficult, then we are just going to say that ‘you are stupid, you are stupid, you are terrible people’ and we are just going to take one pass,” Trump told reporters. “But hope we don’t have to do so.”
Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio from the President’s comments on Friday morning echoed after a meeting with Special Envoy Steve Watkov in Paris and French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as Ukraine, Germany and Britain.

Rubio says that if Russia-Ukrainian peace agreement has not made any progress, we are ready to ‘move forward’ in days
Although Ukraine has agreed on both complete and interim ceasefire proposals, Russia has delayed any agreement for weeks, though it is still part of the most part that it is following a 30 -day ceasefire on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“If we are far away, this will not happen, then the president is ready to move forward,” Rubio told reporters in Paris after his talks, which he called “very positive”.
“We will continue to fly all over the world and will not meet after the meeting if no progress is being made,” Rubio said. “We are going to other titles that are not even more important for the United States in some ways.”
It is not yet clear where the United States will not only stand in helping Ukraine, should Russia refuse to end its illegal attack, but will Trump be threatened with its former threats to impose further sanctions on Russia?

Poland says Moscow’s deadly Ukraine strike is ‘joking’
Last month, during an interview to NBC News, Trump said that Putin was “very angry” and “upset” after showing signs of being ready to join the ceasefire with Ukrainian President Wolodmeer Zelannsky for the first time.
“If Russia and I are unable to make an agreement on preventing bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it is Russia’s fault – which may not be, but if I think it’s a Russian fault, I will put secondary taxes on all oils coming from Russia.”

“It will be that if you buy oil from Russia, you cannot do business in the United States,” he added. “All oil will have 25 % tariff, which is 25 to 50 point tariffs on all oils.”
Trump will not comment on Russia’s “specific day” before he determines whether he is serious about the end of the war, but he told reporters on Friday that he “needs to be quickly – we want to do it.”
