Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought suggestions from business community for system reform to increase public tax revenue, Information Notified on Thursday.
In a meeting with the Presidents of various Chamber of Commerce, the Prime Minister said that achieving economic stability was the first step and the journey of national development began.
During the meeting, Premier directed all ministries and relevant secretaries to formulate a policy action plan based on the Chambers of Commerce suggestions after consultation with them.
Prime Minister Shahbaz added that everyone should work together for the development of the economy, adding that the solution to the problems of the business community was a top priority and the government would fully support them.
Highlighting the difficult economic conditions, he said that the Pakistani business community has continued industrial and commercial activities.
According to the press release, “the government is taking every possible step to make the business community easier. Through the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) digitalization and other reforms, facilities are being provided to the business community.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing said in a press release that the delegation appreciated the government’s economic stability measures and thanked him for his involvement in the consultation process.
For the first time, the government is showing seriousness in solving the problems of the business community, the participants of the meeting said. He added that the involvement of the business community in the consultation process, especially in the budget debates, was a positive step for which he was grateful to the Prime Minister.
