
Pakistan won the Davis Cup juniors 2025 and won a historic milestone, which defeated Indonesia 2-1 in a final.
With this victory, the team was unbeaten throughout the tournament, showing extraordinary skills, determination and teamwork.
As a result of this victory, Pakistan has now qualified for the ITF Asia/Oceanian Davis Cup Junior Qualifying event, which is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan by 19-24 May 2025.
The tournament will feature the top 16 teams from Asia and Oceania, which will compete for the world group.
Expressing his happiness, Pakistan team captain Shahzad Khan said: “I am very proud of how the boys played to end from the beginning. Their dedication and hard work ended.”
Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Isaul Haq Qureshi congratulated the team on his historic achievement and termed it as very national pride.
He praised Captain Shahzad Khan, for his determination and flexibility, Michael Ali Beg, Abu Bakar Tala and Hamza Roman, and emphasized that the presence of Pakistan’s tennis globally has been strengthened.
Highlighting Pakistan’s recent progress in international competitions, the President of the PTF noted that the team ranked 5th in 2023, in 2024, and now emerged as a champion in 2025, which made a significant progress.
He also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of ATP coach Robert Davis and ATP trainer Edward Laluk, who runs a deep training camp in Islamabad in February 2025.
In addition, Yasir Pirzada, director general of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), was praised for his unwavering support in facilitating the international coaching initiative, which is an important step in Pakistan’s tennis development.
