Nissan Motor The New American leader said the Automaker aims to “maximize” production in its largest US production plant between President Donald Trump’s 25 % auto tariff.

“We are considering maximizing the ability and making Samarna a powerhouse that used to be before,” he said. “This is my ultimate goal … completing the plant and making a lot of money again.”
Munier refused to speculate on the timeframe to target this maximum production in the plant, which currently produces four products, including the automacker’s Nissan Rogue. It takes time to change the projects and move production, he said.
“We can increase production, as I have described on the current models in the United States, and have pledged a plan to bring a product into the US market over the next two years, but it may not be overnight,” he said.
Munir’s comments came two days later when Trump said he wanted to “help” some carmakers potentially, saying companies need time to change productive projects.

Nissan is considering adding hybrid production as well as new products such as infinity models in Samarna, Munir said. He also said that the company is analyzing the increase in production to increase power train components such as engines and domestic material.
“The good thing is, we have the flexibility,” said Munir. “I was already working on the tariff, because, I am sure that localization is like that.”
