Croatia’s Football Federation (HNS) said that former Croatian midfielder Nicola Pokrewk died in a car accident in Carlok, Central Croatia on Friday. He was 39 years old.
Local media reported that the collision, which included four vehicles, killed another person with a different car. Pokrewak was in a car with a fourth -tier club NK Wojnik’s companions, who are injured, two of them critically.
Former Danamo Zagrib Midfielder Pokrewak played for Croatia from 2008 to 2010, which won 15 hats. He also played for Lego 1 side as Monaco and Austrian club RB Salzburg.
HNS said in a statement, “It is impossible to find words of relief in such a shocking and unpredictable moment when we have lost a young life.”
“I can only express deep condolences to Nicola’s family and loved ones for this irreparable loss, and the HNS and Croatian football family will be with them in these difficult moments,” said HNS President Marion Costic.
