A Space X Dragon Space Ship Duke with him successfully with four astronauts International Space Station (ISS) Sunday, trapped by two astronauts, paved the way for Sanita Williams and the long anticipated rescue. Booch VilmorIn space, in space
Influx NASA astronaut Ann Mac Klein and Nicole Aires, Japan’s Takia Onshi, and Russia’s Karl Peskov began the start of Staff -10The mission and the return of Williams and Willmor who have spent unexpected nine months in space.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, confirmed the docking in a post on X, “Space X Dragon Docks with Space Station.”
According to NASA, the spacecraft put a post on the EDT at 12:04 am while the ISS was rotating 260 miles from the Atlantic. After docking, Hatch was performed at about 1:45 pm before the EDT opened at the standard leak check and pressure procedures.
Vilmor and Williams close to the end of their long stay
With the arrival of 10 staff, the station has now hosted 11 astronauts, including members of the campaign 72. However, that number will soon decrease, as the children of NASA’s astronauts Vilmor and Sanita Williams, two other staff, are preparing to return to Earth after the long, non -intentional establishment.
Vilmor and Williams initially boarded the Boeing star liner in June 2024, expected to stay only for a week. However, as reported by the AFP, technical failures with the star liner, including propolason issues and helium leaks, forced NASA to leave the spacecraft without returning to Earth in September, and extended the spacecraft indefinitely.
Talking after 10 staff’s posting, Williams expressed his relief and excitement, “It was an amazing day. It was great to see your friends coming.”
Even their situation drew political attention, US President Donald Trump claimed that he had allowed Musk to bring the astronauts home soon by NASA’s plan.
However, NASA never officially ranked them as “trapped”, taking care that they were stored on ISS and were actively engaged in scientific research and rehabilitation works.
Mission of staff 10
Before the departure of Vilmor and Williams, they will transfer responsibilities to newcomers the next few days.
According to NASA, the staff -10 will conduct more than 200 scientific experiments, which include fire tests in space and studies on the effects of microorganisms on the human body. These experiments will contribute to long -term projects for NASA’s deep space research Artemis program.
Once the handover is completed, Williamore, Williams, NASA’s Nick Hague, and the Rososomos Cosmonate Alexander Gorbonov will board the Dragon Freedom capsule for the return journey. The weather allowed, the Florida coast is not expected before March 19.
This mission has increased the growing domination of Space X in NASA’s staff transport strategy.
According to the AP, the delay in the Boeing star liner program has reinforced the dependence on SpaceX staff’s dragon, which has completed several successful missions since NASA became a primary astronaut career in 2020.
