Yemeni Houthis said on Tuesday that they would resume attacks on Israeli ships passing through the Red and Arab Oceans, Bab al -Mundab Strait and the Gulf of Aden, which would end the relatively calm on CALM, which began in January with the Gaza Seas fire.
The Houthis launched more than 100 attacks targeting shipping from November 2023, saying they were in solidarity with the Palestinians over the Israeli war with Hamas in Gaza.
During this period, the group sank two ships, caught another, and killed at least four ships in an aggression, which disrupted shipping globally, forcing firms to travel again on long and more expensive trips around South Africa.
The Yemeni Houthi leader warned on Friday that if Israel does not hinder Gaza within four days, the group will resume its naval operations against Israel.
On March 2, Israel stopped the entry of relief trucks into Gaza when reconciliation increased, Hamas demanded from Egyptian and Qatari arbitrators to intervene.
The group said in an e -mail statement on Wednesday, “The ban will be imposed until the Gaza Strip is mastered and will be allowed to enter humanitarian aid, including food and medical equipment,” the group said in an email statement on Wednesday, adding that the ban would be affected immediately.
According to Israeli media, on the other hand, the Israeli team has reached the Qatari capital to continue talks with the mediators on the fate of the Gaza Seas fire, which has been long since its first phase ending this month.
Subsequently, comments from a senior Hamas official say talks have resumed in Doha.
The report states that the arbitration will try to get Hamas incentives in the form of release of Israeli captives in exchange for a temporary ceasefire extension, which aims to buy more time talks.
Hamas has repeatedly said that such a proposal is not interested.
A Hamas official said a recent round of Gaza Seas fire talks began on Tuesday in the Qatari capital Doha, in which the Palestinian movement approached the “positive and responsible” negotiations.
“A new era of ceasefire talks began today,” Abdul Rahman Shadid said in a statement. “Our movement is dealing with these negotiations positive and responsible.”
Israel has to increase a critical ceasefire in Gaza, but has not commented on the dialogue so far.
“We hope that the current era of negotiations leads to concrete progress towards the beginning of the second phase,” said Shadid.
He also expressed hope that the US Middle East envoy Steve Watkov would help “start talks for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement”.
“The US administration (Israeli) is responsible for the irresponsible support for the government.”
