Auckland: Emerging batsman Hassan Nawaz has launched his record -breaking century against New Zealand, which has helped Pakistan survive in the five -match T20 series.
Right -handed opener, one of the youngsters on Pakistan’s team for New Zealand T20, made an international start on Sunday at Christ Church.
However, his international start was exemplary, as he was dismissed for a two -ball duck. His struggle continued in another T20I, where he failed to open his account once again.
As a result, a full member of the history of Nawaz format became the only sixth batsman from the country to register the unwanted record of registering two ducks in the first two men’s T20 innings.
However, the 22-year-old made a surprising return by breaking the century of 44 balls-which is the fastest pace for Pakistan in the shortest form-and the green shirts attracted to a record-breaking victory.
For his Social Blocking Century, Hassan Nawaz was decided to match the match.
Addressing a post -offer ceremony, the top order batsman said he was ‘disappointed’ after falling for the ducks in their first two innings.
However, he said that captain Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan supported them by highlighting their abilities to win the match.
“The way I came out in the first two matches, I was very disappointed, but Captain and Shadab helped me, told me that I was a match -winning player and he helped me.
“Just in my mind, I needed to score a single in international cricket and then after that I felt comfortable and pressed.
“I was very back and I am very grateful to my captain.”
