Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himtha Basuva War said Thursday that the fighter plane will soon be able to land on the state’s national highways. The state administration is preparing to facilitate this development later this year.
Addressing the media after the cabinet meeting in Dabrgarh on Thursday, CM Winter said, “We are upgrading the national highway between Dabirgarh and Jurrat to meet international standards. Soon, Indian Air Force fighter jets will be on this year.”
In a veiled comment for the opposition, the Chief Minister said, “Some people criticize us when we discuss development measures, but the fact is that our government is actively working on projects like underwater tunnels and construction of international standard highways. This progress will be seen within a year.”
In addition to the development of infrastructure, CM Winter also announced steps to enhance business activities in Assam. During the cabinet meeting, it was decided to allow shops to be open for 24 hours a day in Guwahati, Dabrogarh and Salchar.
In other urban areas, businesses can now run up to 2 pm
“Guwahati, Dabrogarh, and Salchar are municipal corporations, and the cabinet has approved continuous business operations in these cities for 24 hours a day. Earlier, the state government has declared a weekly closing day for shops, but now the ban has been lifted.”
In rural areas, the business will now be allowed to work by 11 am
Highlighting the welfare of the workers, the Chief Minister emphasized that no business establishment can force employees to work for more than nine hours a day.
“Employees in small businesses cannot exceed 48 work hours every week, which increases shifts daily in nine hours, for 24 hours working shops, owners have to hire at least three employees to manage three shifts, no more than eight or nine hours.”
He added that the move aims to create jobs in a small -scale business.
