The Council has confirmed that it will spend more than $ 4.3 million to support the government to provide financial support to most needy people.
At a cabinet meeting on Monday, the councilors approved the expense plan to allocate the latest allocation of the domestic support fund (HSF).
Fund – 2025/26 for the financial year 4 4.387M – will be used for food residents, energy grants, council tax relief and help for care and other weak groups.
The largest part of the funding – 68 2.687 million – will spend up to 13 weeks of school holidays by Easter 2026 to help families for free school food for supermarket vouchers.
Local Democracy Reporting Service said children’s families will receive a supermarket voucher worth £ 15 a week in the recovery of free schools.
During the meeting, Councilor Victoria Koswah said: “This is a peaceful calm for parents, because at school they have no money than school holidays.”
The council will also allocate 50 950,000 to increase the support of the local council tax, which will reduce the bills of more than 14,000 less income households.
Half a million pounds will fund the council’s energy crisis -related relief scheme, which will offer more than 2,000 households once a £ 250 energy grant, and, 000 90,000 will be used to help youth careers with food and energy costs.
Further, 000 60,000 will be spent to help distribute and cooperate food hampers in Christmas and New Year, and will go to distribute domestic accessories to 4,000 households through 000 100,000 food banks, social supermarkets and community programs.
