The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to leave the ODI series from Pakistan from its coming tour, rather than playing T20 only. The decision was made in harmony with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as both teams focus on preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICT20 World Cup.
In fact, Bangladesh had to visit Pakistan for three ODIs and three T20s in May under the future tour program (FTP). However, the two boards have now agreed to replace ODIs with a five -match T20 series, allowing their teams to improve their squad for ahead of the world tournaments.
India will host the Asia Cup of 2025 in September and will be played in the T20 format, with the preparations for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
Apart from a visit to Pakistan, Bangladesh will also host a three -match T20 series against Pakistan in July. The series, which was finalized during the recent ICC Champions Trophy debates between the PCB and the BCB presidents, is not part of the FTP, but it is determined to further strengthen the preparations for the World Cup of the two teams.
“We have decided to play T20 ice instead of ODIS in the upcoming Tour Pakistan as part of the upcoming T20 World Cup and Asia Cup preparation,” said a BCB official. He added, “When Pakistan travels to Bangladesh, he is about to play three T20 ice in Dhaka on July 20, 22, and 24, just before his visit to the West Indies.”
