Gabriel Martinilli The Champions League was excited to follow in the footsteps of weapons legend Thierry Henry by scoring at the Barnabi Stadium in Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Brazilian striker targeted the late winner when the weapons ended the overall holders Madrid 5-1 to reach the semi-finals of the first time since 2009.
“It’s a dream to experience it, score here,” is a proud Martinilli told TNT Sports.
Henry, the leading -time scorer of the weapons, scored the only goal in the round of the 16 tie between weapons and Madrid in 2006.
Wednesday’s goal was Martinley’s second in the Champions League this season. Like his manager Michael Arteta, Martinley also said that the 15 -time winner was knocking on Madrid.
He added, “This is one of the nights that will always be with us.”
“We know the opponents against whom we are ready, their history and tradition in the Champions League, and we have done more valuable work. In one of the knockout games, defeating Real Madrid is something for few, and it shows the size of our shirt.
“We know the responsibility of representing the weapons, and we have been able to put into practice to enable it.
“I am very happy for this purpose, to score it in Barnabio, which is a football temple, and this is definitely the most memorable chapter of my career … Henry also scored (in Barnabio), Saka and I scored today.
“We came here with a mentality, we did not come here to keep the game. Due to pressure, we had to be calm, because of how their team plays, we had to be calm. But we came to win the game.”
Paris St. German will face weapons in the semi -finals with the opening leg on Emirates Stadium on April 29.
PSG defeated Austin Villa 5-4 overall to reach the last four.
